World Cup Edition: Eight

Sonia and Ravi reveal the name of their "little buddy," curse some cellphone chatting jaywalkers and demonstrate the DWCE Header -- all in anticipation of Sunday's World Cup Final.

Special thanks to Larry Kelly for 2nd Unit camera work.

I'm having problems (again!) with the Internet Archive, so I've put this latest episode on my own server for now. I'll swap it over to archive.org if/when things return to normal there.

Go Portugal! (for third place...)

Arghh!

2:30 tomorrow is NOT convenient. I have to work.

I do think interest is spreading in the US. I for one have been riveted by the WC this year -in the past I didn't care.

Drivetime WCE has been great fun.

Huggy Ball appears to have some blemishes that resemble what we golfers call "road rash". Those are scrapes that appear when the ball hits a paved surface, like a cart path. You've been playing soccer in the street haven't you, Ravi? Admit it!!

ps. Ain't it a shame about Amanda?

im not sure its fair to criticize people's driving when you're promoting standing out of your sunroof doing "header"s.. ;-)

I love the "headshot" that was just too funny. :D

Hey... is that a new car or a car I just haven't seen in your collection yet? ;D

Great show... I think this is my fave.
Good work Ravi and Sonia!

I'd like to encourage all viewers of DriveTime to nominate the production at: http://www.podcastawards.com

Seems like "Best Mobile Podcast" or "Best Produced" are good fits for the great work that Ravi + Sonia provide.

Okey dokey! We've just about recovered from the World Cup Final... we'll give a lil' old recap to close out this whole DWCE shebang shortly.

I forgot about my archive.org struggles -- I've managed to upload it there (instead of my own server). Shouldn't be fairly transparent.

A DriveTime email elf dropped a hint about some of the URLs on past episodes that may help when archive.org starts the old server shell game.

brad -- were you able to catch any of Final?

joe c -- you caught me with my streetball antics (all off camera, of course).

ed -- my heart was with Portugal... it really was!

serra -- I'm only promoting such activities in the name of World Cup!

lehsa -- after the fiasco of the overheated experience of DriveTime episodes 30 and 31, we've stuck exclusively with Studio-V for DWCE.

hey ken! Thanks for the suggestion -- too kind, too kind...

and worm2 -- are you reading my mind? Or are you sneaking into those lengthy DriveTime brainstorm sessions?! Stay "tuned."

Ravi,

Just saw you on Fox News!! I remember seeing the news about the first car that drove throught the Big Dig tunnel but didn't know that was you until I watched that story. Was that Studio A you were driving?

lehsa -- I did see that, posted on the *real* Steve Garfield's blog!

vu -- I thought they did a good job with that piece. Maybe Bianca will be a future guest on DriveTime?

Vu -- Yes, that was Studio-A, back in its prime! They've posted that report online (you have to dig a bit.)

That would be great if Bianca could be a guest. She is quite high on the hotness scale, yet she does a great job with all her reporting and anchoring duties.
