Episode Sixteen

Ravi and Sonia talk pandas and gorillas before an austere recap of their weekend in Washington D.C. Aaron Hurley, currently appearing "off Centre Street" in The Footlight Club's production of The Lion in Winter, visits studio-A to talk about acting in America's oldest community theater. And the three make their way to a car wash for a sweeps-ladened date with destiny.

Glad that you guys took a trip to DC, if I'd have known I would have totally stalked you, because I live in the area and am a big fan of your show ;)

Seriously, we could have performed a drive-time special at the zoo.

Aren't the panda's cute? Awesome show guys, keep up the good work.

Best DriveTime ever.

I liked the awkward silence.

I'm going to see the play on Saturday!

Sweeps...Schmeeps! This was THE episode.

A brilliant production! Timing is everything. Steve's right. The best one to date.

I detected a little Canadian in Sonia's voice (a-boat).

I'm keeping hope alive for a car wash scene.

Aaron, dude, I wish I could make it up before the show closes. Break a leg to all.

rob -- you're first out of the gate! sorry we missed your stalking clutches... we had a boffo time (with the exception of some rain).

brian -- once again you've anticipated by very move... A very special Blizzard Episode. If only Snowbeast Sarah could return!

wow Steve -- best ever?!

ken -- you are not alone in detecting a phantom Canadian accent from Sonia. If only she started saying, "For sure!"

jonnydock -- believe you me, I tried to reason with the lad behind the counter.

and with that elena -- I promise, hope against hope, we will take DriveTime through that car wash. You and rest of us will ride through the maelstrom together!

I ran through all fifteen episodes last week for the first time and I'm hooked. But this one was the best. Cutaways and theatre - and a car wash tease. What more could you ask for. Keep up the good work.

Ravi,

Man, I wish you had let us know you were going to be in D.C., last weekend. We live like 5 miles from D.C., and our brats haven't been to the zoo in ever so long and Judy and I have been dying to see King Kong...

bob watts -- wow! A DriveTime marathon viewing? I haven't even done that! Welcome aboard.

don -- take the bra... er, the kids, over to the zoo early on a Sunday. It's so worth it -- very quiet, easy to see the Pandas, and then slowly the rest of the zoo awakens. And if you get there before sunrise you can see the lions and tigers cavorting (we didn't).

This was a great episode...but I'm slightly biased.

Thanks for making it out to the show Saturday. I'm sorry I missed you afterward but I saw pictures that proved you were there. :)

I can't wait to see the big snow episode. Perhaps a reading from "The Ice Man Cometh" is in order.

I think it was great also (but I too am biased!)

We thoroughly enjoyed the show last night -- the guilty pleasure of doing DriveTime is that its opening my eyes to such goings-ons.

Kudos to the entire cast.

And an extra hearty huzzah to Kevin Miller for his outstanding spit take!

Hey! Great episode.

Did you use a video stabilizer effect on the zoo video? Looks good.

...ps...are we the only one's that say "furshur", or is it just the way we say it?

Pat -- no image stabilizer effect, but I did slow down the video a bit in Final Cut. Plus the source was off of my little Canon (so an AVI source as opposed to miniDV).

But looks good, furshur! ;-)

Love the DC clip with the touching soundtrack! I turned up the sound on my laptop to get the full effect. Ravi, you do a great job with the editing and clips, which makes DriveTime stand out from other home-grown podcasts. I hear Nielsen Media Research is now measuring online content. Wonder if they've got DriveTime ratings.

Eek -- real ratings would mean real sweeps! Glad you liked the DC clip -- those little "remote segments" are fun to put together.
